Chivas got their first home defeat of the season

30/01/2021 21:04 / Fernando Giaccardi

From the get-go, Juárez showed their offensive intentions, and with high pressure on El Rebaño’s defensive line manage to cause a lot of problems and wreak havoc among Guadalajara.

Juárez was close to open the scoreboard in minute 2, but Gudiño saved a close-range shot by Lezcano, then in the 8th minute ‘Tiba’ unleashed a header from inside the box that went over the woodwork.

In minute 9 Dario Lezcano gave Juárez the lead with a violent right-footed shot past Gudiño. A few minutes later, Alexis Vega dribbled past a couple of defenders and cross the ball, but nobody could get to it.

In the 28th minute, García doubled Juárez lead after a left-footed shot that found the back of the net. By the dawn of the first half, it was Macías who was close to getting the first one for El Chiverío, first in the 33 minute with a fantastic header that crashed into the crossbar and then in minute 45 as he outran Juárez defenders, shot but Palos deflected the ball.

Chivas pushed hard during the whole second half following several tactic adjustments and player substitutions by Víctor Vucetich. In minute 54, Alexis Vega fired a rocket shot that sadly crashed into the post. Finally, in minute 77 'JJ' Macías’ hard effort paid off as he pulled one back for El Rebaño after an accurate ball from Antuna.

Unfortunately, Chivas could not get the equalizer despite a great display of effort and now will focus on matchweek when they will face León at Estadio Nou Camp on Monday 8th.
