“Imagination is the beginning of creation. You imagine what you desire, you will what you imagine and at last you create what you will”.
- George Bernard Shaw
I don’t care who you are, truth is a hard pill to swallow and truth telling is an act of violence.
Practical truth, according to Aristotle, occurs thanks to the emergence within the soul of a true opinion and, simultaneously, a right action. The false in the sphere of actions is produced, on the contrary, with the emergence of a false opinion and a not upright action. Basically, a lie.
We call theories of truth the attempts made throughout the history of philosophy to define, explain and understand what truth consists of. The criteria of truth make it possible to distinguish the true from the false.
Is there such a thing as truth, what is it, and can we have access to it?
Truth is the coincidence between a statement and the facts, or the reality to which the statement refers, or the fidelity to an idea.
With that in mind, the tourney hasn’t even started and Chivas is at the epicenter of a media storm. Nothing new. Lots of smoke and mirrors. Very little truth.
But what’s up with the constant bombardment of twisted facts from friend and foe alike? The media lets fly at Chivas at the drop of a hat. El Rebaño Sagrado and the rumor mill go hand in hand with the great divider: money.
Whether we like it or not, sport is a global and universal phenomenon, possibly the social phenomenon of our time, above any other. A recent report on people’s attitudes toward sports shows that over 90% of the world’s population either plays or watches some sport, or reads articles about sports regularly, or in the least of cases identifies with a particular team or player.
Beyond pure statistical data, this means that we are talking about the most practiced and observed activity in the history of mankind but, at the same time, one of the most misunderstood and one of the most lucrative.
The talking heads know it. I disagree with the detractors. “Chivas doesn’t have a chance this season” or “Chivas didn’t invest in bringing any payers”. Chivas this and Chivas that. If an in depth analysis is truly made, the true fan will see a strong, adaptive and dynamic squad. The objective has been set and the time has come to step up and take up the challenge. That’s the truth.
Aristotle claimed that the search for true knowledge depended on finding causes: the formal cause, the final cause, the material cause, the efficient cause. Knowledge must be the knowledge of truth and knowledge of truth cannot be ascertained without knowing its cause.
The cause behind these claims? True improvement in the search for efficiency? Broker division in order to destabilize for later gain? The focus on the material work in exchange for money? Whichever the case may be, the Red and White boys are back and have shown they do not fear the truth. The truth is an incentive, a truth that can set us free.
We found our way with unity and hard work Our minds are now set on the AP21 tournament. #MeXIcanos pic.twitter.com/uSK9fWcCh0
