Guadalajara's victory against Necaxa in Aguascalientes, on Clausura 2022’s season closer, was very significant for several reasons, mainly for the fact that El Rebaño clinched a host spot for the WildCard game and that the team looks stronger on the pitch and in conviction towards the playoffs.
Besides the fact that Chivas has now 4 wins in a row, the red & white squad registered several outstanding stats, which we describe below:
- We have 5 matches without losing against Necaxa on any field, with 4 wins and 1 draw.
- We set an undefeated streak of 8 games (League and Cup) against Los Rayos in Aguascalientes, with 5 victories and 3 ties.
- We have scored at least 1 goal against the hidrocalidos in the last 10 clashes; in 3 of those matches we kept a clean sheet.
- Our most recent 4 wins in a row streak was in the Guard1anes 2020 (MatchDay 17, WildCard game and both Quarterfinal legs); the last time we did so during the regular season was in the Clausura 2016 (MatchDay 11 to 14).
- Ricardo Cadena set a record as a Chivas' relief coach, with 4 back to back victories.
- Miguel Ponce scored his second goal in the Clausura 2022.
- Alexis Vega registered his fourth assist in the tournament.
- Miguel Jimenez kept a clean sheet for the fourth time in 8 matches played this season.
- 11 out of the 16 players that participated against Necaxa are Chivas’ home-grown.
- 3 out of the 4 players from Tapatio that were called-up for El Rebaño's match against the Rayos got into action.
- Alexis Vega reached 100 official games with El Guadalajara (95 League and 5 Cup).
