“We all carry the seeds of greatness within us, but we need an image as a point of focus in order that they may sprout”.
- Epictetus (The Art of Living).
As in all things, it is essential that people have a general purpose in their lives, which is the driving force that leads them to face challenges and difficulties in order to achieve that general purpose.
Every day we have opportunities to make the necessary changes that allow us to improve our life condition. It is the best time to make the commitment to overcome old negative habits and change them for positive ones, with the possibility of renewing our body, mind and spirit, thus changing our lifestyle.
Now you might ask, what in the world does this have to do with Chivas?Well fellas, actually… everything!!!
Our red & white boys are in full renewal! The last 4 games we have been witness to, we have been able to see the evolution, the internal revolution that has permeated the team.
The reasons behind the transformation might be diffuse, in transition, but they are coalescing, becoming a moving body. A synchronicity in movement. The synchronicity of mind.
It would seem that overnight, all the distractors have been moved to a secondary position. This is a new Chivas. Unrecognizable, yet reminiscent of red & white versions of the past. ‘La garra ha regresado’. Max Effort is back on the menu.
But what happened? Cadena is no magician. He brought out the old playbook and played it simple.
The lines, before irregular and malformed, now move as one. Transition from defense to offense, seamless. Player communication is clean and crisp, almost subliminal. In this version of our Chivas, there is no such thing as giving up. In Cadena’s version of Chivas, less means more. He has kept it simple.
These boys visualize and make what they see so. Everything is interwoven, all the parts are connected and well oiled. Simply stated, the lads are playing what they know. Enough to get the job done and more.
We are all aware that success depends on many variables. Some are under our control and some are not. For the Stoics, enjoyment meant doing their work, and through work, success. For these Chivas, all the hard work is now paying off. Success is now the journey, not the objective. The love of the game is back.
