Clearly the winning goal against Monterrey was pure O2 for Santiago Ormeño and for El Rebaño Sagrado as a result of the various events that had taken place on an individual and collective level prior to Guadalajara's last string of victories.
However, one of the things that got people talking on Tuesday night was Ormeño's celebration, in addition to receiving a thousand 'zapes' from his teammates, he threw himself on the ground and did something that was strange for many.
What did he do or what did he try to do? It is no secret that 'Santi' is a video game lover, Call Of Duty Warzone being number 1 on his list, so after scoring, he decided to celebrate by emulating a 'Self Revive', which is basically reviving yourself during a game by giving yourself an injection.
But for that to happen, let's talk soccer and analyze the action of the goal that caused complete madness at the Akron.
What were the keys to that goal?
1. Fernando Beltrán cleared the space in front of the box by pulling Kranevitter, who was the only Rayados' containment player, towards the sideline.
2. Cristian Calderón spotted the empty space and set up Cisneros who, as the wingman, knew he had to cut inside to capitalize on Monterrey's poor positioning.
3. With no one pressing El 'Charal', the center back (Luis Romo) had to jump in to do the job, which freed up space behind him which was exploited by Ormeño, who had only to cross his shot past the goalkeeper to score the decisive goal, making the score 1-0.
