Puebla - Chivas knocked out of the final phase after losing in penalty shootout series against Puebla following a 1-1 draw in regular time. Carlos Cisneros scored an agonizing and heart-stopping goal to take the playoff game to the penalty shootout, but it was not enough to avoid elimination just as the fire of hope had appeared in the hearts of millions of ChivaHermanos.
The goals:
At 57' - On a high cross by Emilio Martínez, Gilberto Sepúlveda failed to cut the trajectory of the ball and Martín Barragán's header sent it into the back of the goal.
At 90' +5, Carlos Cisneros put a courageous left-footed shot at the near post to beat Antony Silva after a masterful pass from 'Canelo' Angulo.
Danger:
10' Roberto Alvarado shot cross, Antony Silva deflected the ball, 'Chapo' Sánchez connected on the run and his delivery was deflected by Araújo, the ball was left to Isaac Brizuela, who also let go of a powerful shot, but it hit the crossbar.
18' Gilberto Sepúlveda saved a shot from Omar Fernández inside the box.
21' In a filtered feed to Araújo, who paused passed diagonally, in his attempt to cut the ball, 'Tiba' crashed the ball into 'Wacho' and the ball rebounded high towards Jordi Cortizo, who sent it into the net, but the goal was disallowed due an Araújo offside.
31' 'Tiba' managed to block Lucas Maia's shot at the near post after a corner kick from the right.
34' Great play by Roberto Alvarado who broke down the left towards the center, with a heel pass to Alexis, who unleashed a right-footed shot, but Antony Silva held on to stop the ball.
36' 'Checo' Flores tried a shot from midfield, which the La Franja goalkeeper had trouble keeping out.
48' Cristian Calderón's left-footed shot was deflected for a corner kick by Lucas Maia.

71' Alexis Vega made a long drive from the left towards the center of the field, but as he entered the area and tried to cut back, he was disarmed by the defense.
81' Antony Silva twice blocked shots by Ángel Zaldívar and Fernando Beltrán to prevent the equalizer.
84' Carlos Cisneros fired a left-footed shot, but the ball sailed over the top of the goal.
88' Ángel Zaldívar blasted a left-footed shot from the halfway line, but slipped on contact with the ball, which sailed over the top of the goal.
