After 4 years of waiting, the World Cup is just around the corner, so today Gerardo Martino announced the list of 26 players called up to play with the Mexican National Team in Qatar 2022, including 2 players from Guadalajara, who have a good chance of playing in the World Cup.
They are Alexis Vega and 'Piojo' Alvarado, who have been present for a large part of the cycle and, after their good performances with the red and white team, have earned their place in the national team.
How did they fare in this World Cup process?
Vega and Alvarado won the 2019 Gold Cup and won the bronze medal at Tokyo 2020, so they have had a good harvest over the last 4 years.
In Club Deportivo Guadalajara we are very proud to have 2 Rojiblancos of Selection for the World Cup, so there is nothing left but to wish them all the success with Mexico in this journey through Qatar.
