Chivas' first rehearsal very productive

26/11/2022 19:34 / Enrique Noriega

Isla Navidad, Colima - With a friendly duel against Caimanes de Colima, Guadalajara put an end to the first stage of its preseason. The exercise was very useful for Veljko Paunovic, far beyond the results, all the players of the Rebaño have shown a good understanding of Paunovic’s idea of the game having only had 2 weeks of work.

What was the highlight of the match? Let me break it down for you.

The game, which ended 7-0 in favor of Chivas, was divided into 4 halves of 30 minutes and except for Hiram Mier and José Juan Macías, who are recovering from their respective injuries, all the players who traveled to Isla Navidad had an opportunity to showcase their skills for the Serbian tactician.

The highlight was undoubtedly the way in which the Rebaño pressed, as they practically didn't let their rival play by suffocating them and taking the ball away quickly. The red and white team also looked very fluid in attack, as Paunovic gave very specific roles to all his players and they always occupied the spaces in the proper form.

In addition, another key aspect was the generation of multiple dangerous chances.

The goals:

- Guadalajara's first came at 21' through Ángel Zaldívar, who broke free and finished off a great filtered pass from Fernando Beltrán with his left foot.
- Chivas made it 2-0 at 26', as 'Chelo' once again sent the ball into the back of the net with a right-footed shot, after a back-heel from 'Nene' that left him alone in front of the goalkeeper.
- Zaldívar also made it 3-0 at 40', sealing his hat trick with a good penalty shot.
- The red-and-whites scored the fourth goal at 51' thanks to a shot by 'Chicote', who put a free kick into the top corner.

The third and fourth half goals:

- The fifth goal of the afternoon was scored by 'Tepa' González at 93' , as Zahid Muñoz sent a great cross for Ormeño, who chested the ball down for the left-footed attacker who finished off with that same leg.
- At 114', Santiago Ormeño rounded off his good match with a goal, preceded by a great play by Pavel, who left him in front of the goal for a left-footed shot.
- Chivas closed out the scoring in the last minute of the game through Antonio Briseño, who made it 7-0 with a great cross header.
