A month ago, Chivas got to work preparing for the Clausura 2023, at the same time, have carried out a total evaluation of the human resources available and the search for players that will allow an increase in competitive level. For this task, the Rebaño Sagrado has chosen Víctor Guzmán to join the squad to add his talent, qualities and leadership to the game design that is being developed under the command of Veljko Paunovic.
Why bring him back to Guadalajara?
Pocho' is returning home at an ideal moment, 'Pauno''s idea of the game is perfectly suited to his footballing conditions; he is an attacker disguised as a midfielder, with good definition and the necessary instincts to reach the box.
There is also a message between the lines: Guzmán is known for popping up at important moments. He has scored goals of considerable importance throughout his career which is another key reason behind his arrival. Undoubtedly, this reinforcement will also provide experience and leadership on the field, he tends to boost his team in moments of urgency, be a leader when it is necessary to liquidate the game's proceedings.
His trajectory...
Pocho' was born in Tonalá, Jalisco, and was formed in the Rebaño's youth academy, where he played in almost all categories and even becaming U-20 Champ. He made his Liga MX debut in the 2015 Apertura with the Tuzos jersey and from then on he has been a high-performance player.
He has played 247 official matches, in which he has registered 57 goals and 29 assists. For a clear picture of his career, Guzmán has already scored in a Club World Cup, he also knows what it is like to score goals for the National Team and in the CONCACAF Champions League.
His successes...
Víctor is already a two-time champion of Liga MX. In Clausura 2016, he scored the last minute goal that gave Pachuca the title in Monterrey. And how can we forget what happened a few weeks ago, when the Tuzos were crowned against Toluca. The Rebaño's new reinforcement was a starter and also scored a goal in the second leg.
