The mission of bolstering up Guadalajara ahead of the Clausura 2023 has been in the works since the preseason began. After a few weeks of analyzing the options available on the market, Daniel Ríos has been selected to become a new Chivas player, an addition that will strengthen the red-and-white attack and raise the squad's competitive level.
What will Rios bring to 'Pauno's' eleven? What are his strengths?
The attacker has a great aerial game, taking advantage of his 1.86 height. In addition, he is a good finisher with balls coming from the flank and one of his specialties is breaking free at the near post.
Veljko Paunovic's approach to soccer is to constantly bring the ball into the box and from there do damage. That is why having players like Rios with a solid punch and the ability to move inside the box is of great value.
Who is Daniel Ríos?
Daniel is a right-footed striker trained in the #CanteraRojiblanca, he was born in Mexico City and is 27 years old.
During his formative process in Chivas he was champion with the Third Division in 2011 and with the U20 team in the Apertura 2014. Ríos made his debut with the First Team in the MX Cup in CL15. In addition to his time with the Rebaño Sagrado, Daniel had spells in the Liga de Ascenso with Coras de Tepic and Zacatepec, to later try his luck in the United States.
He arrived at North Carolina of the USL in 2018 and thanks to his good performances a year later he was able to go to Nashville SC, a franchise that played 2019 in the USL and in 2020 joined the MLS. He then moved to Charlotte FC where he has been this season.
