5 things you didn't know about Chivas vs. Querétaro

02/02/2023 16:38 / Enrique Noriega

Chivas has a very clear mission for the match against the Gallos: win and play attractive fútbol in front of their fans. To start off with, Guadalajara is the best away team so far in the Clausura 2023, but now they need to get three points at the Akron Stadium, in order to climb up the general table and gain the confidence of the Chiva Nation.

Querétaro, on the other hand, did not start the season well and, in their last few visits to the Akron, they have not been at their best. Against this backdrop, here are some facts you probably didn't know and should keep in mind ahead of this Sunday's match, corresponding to Matchday 5.

- Chivas has not lost at home against Querétaro since September 21, 2014.

- In the history of short tournaments, Guadalajara has hosted Los Gallos on 17 occasions and the record favors them with 7 wins, 6 draws and 4 defeats.

- The last time Querétaro visited the Rebaño was on Matchday 3 of the Clausura 2022 and that match ended in a 2-2 draw.

- The first time the Gallos visited Chivas' new stadium was on March 19, 2011 and the win was for the Red and Whites 2-0. (Fun Fact: Jesús Sánchez was a starter that afternoon).

- El Chiverío and Queretaro have faced each other 4 times in February in short tournaments (CL04, CL10, CL14 and CL18) and the team from Guadalajara is undefeated, with 3 wins and 1 draw; in all the mentioned matches, the Rebaño scored 2 goals.
