Chivas needs 2 goals at the Azteca Stadium to advance to the Final

19/05/2023 12:58 / Salvador Pacheco

Chivas had a great first half, was insistent in attack and generated several scoring options, but their lack of accuracy took its toll and they lost the first leg of the Clásico de México Quarterfinals Clausura 2023, which means they will have to win by two goals next Sunday at the Azteca in order to advance to the Grand Final of the Liga MX.

The goal
- The visitors scored the difference at 59' through Alejandro Zendejas, who, in a personal move inside the box, surprised with a shot at the near post.

The dangerous ones:
- At 5', 'Pocho' Guzmán stole the ball and then filtered through the center for Alexis Vega, who eluded the defender's sweep and shot across, but his shot was deflected by Malagón.

- At 10', 'Wacho' Jiménez saved his goal with a timely save from Henry Martín's shot.

- At 15', Alan Mozo sent in a cross that Alexis shot first-time, but Malagón's save prevented the ball from ending up in the net.

- At 28', Mozo appeared again to place the ball in the heart of the area, where 'Pocho' appeared to head the ball, but once again the visiting goalkeeper did well.

- At 45', 'Piojo' recovered a bad rebound by Malagón on the right flank, then cut back to the center, took a right-footed shot that went just past the right post.

- At 45'+2', 'Pocho' appeared again to control a defensive rebound at the halfway line and, as best he could, shot with his left foot, but the ball grazed the outside of the left post of the Azulcrema goal.

- América came close at 75' with a long-range shot by Richard Sánchez, which was deflected by 'Wacho'.
