Chivas could not have had a better start to the Apertura 2023, they won away from home on one of the most complicated fields in the Liga MX and this will undoubtedly allow the team to gain confidence to find and improve the collective performance shown in the previous semester. This performance has given El Rebaño Sagrado several things to boast about and we present them below:
- Chivas has won 6, drawn 1 and lost only 3 of its last 10 visits to the Nou Camp.
- El Rebaño has scored at least 1 goal in its last 4 games played in León.
- The red-and-whites are undefeated against Los Esmeraldas on home dates, having drawn 0-0 in the only previous match and now won 1-2.
- Guadalajara have won in AP23 (León 1-2), in CL23 (Rayados 0-1) and in CL22 (Mazatlán 3-0), as well as drawing in AP22 (FC Juárez 0-0).
- Jesús Brigido, Yael Padilla and Raúl Martínez are the first players from the #CanteraRojiblanca to debut in Liga MX under Veljko Paunovic.
- Yael Padilla is the fourth Chivas player to debut as a goal scorer in his debut match.
- Víctor Guzmán participated in both goals against León; in the first one he took the corner kick and in the second one he assisted Yael.
- Antonio Briseño scored his second goal with Chivas in Liga MX; the first was against Tigres in J2 of AP19.
- El 'Pollo' was the player with the most rejections in Day 1 with 19; Gilberto Orozco was fourth with 14.
- Miguel Jiménez was the goalkeeper with the most saves on the opening day with 7.
