Ulises Sandoval's first expression upon arriving at the Verde Valle facilities was one of amazement and excitement. Thanks to the Jorge Vergara Foundation and the Sueña Chivas program, he was minutes away from fulfilling the dream of many ChivaHermanitos.
Ulises is only 7 years old and suffers from a neuromusculoskeletal disability. He is currently in the first year of elementary school, where he has many friends, with whom he shares his love for soccer and the Rebaño Sagrado. In fact, his whole family is Chiva de Corazon and that is why they arrived punctually to the appointment so he could meet his idol: 'Chicote' Calderon.
The little boy was accompanied by his parents, Eduardo and Ivonne, and his siblings Axel and Kristal, who enjoyed Wednesday's training session and at the end of practice came to greet the majority of the red and white squad, as well as taking the classic souvenir photos and asking the players for their autographs.
The last one to approach was precisely 'Chicote', who spent some time with Ulises and his family. When the little boy saw him arrive, he froze, could not articulate a word and only stared at his idol with astonishment. Moments later, he handed him a letter he wrote for him and the red and white player received it with great emotion and asked him 'Is it for me?' And the boy could only nod his head.
At the end, Cristian gave him one of his jerseys and wrote him a very emotional dedication, while Ulises could finally let out some nervous laughter, a moment that his parents recorded on video with their cell phones so that Ulises could relive it again and again.
