The Jorge Vergara Foundation's 'Sueña Chivas' program continues its work to fulfill the greatest desires of people in vulnerable situations and on this occasion helped make Pepe's dream come true, the illusion of being close to and spending time with his idols from the Rebaño Sagrado.
Pepe is 12 years old, is the fourth of 5 siblings, lives in Mexico City and is the only Guadalajara fan in his family, as he says that since he was a little boy he has liked the way Chivas plays. Such is his love and attachment to the Rebaño that when he was 5 years old he lost his hair in a bet in a Mexican Clasico.
Pepe is a warrior, because two years ago he was diagnosed with adrenal carcinoma, a disease that he has faced with courage, as he has overcome the removal of a kidney, several surgeries and chemotherapy, with a positive attitude in the face of such a difficult test that life has put in his way.
Upon his arrival at Verde Valle he could not hide his excitement, since he learned that he would be visiting the fold, his anxiety and desire to be with his idols grew. The first to greet him was coach Veljko Paunovic, who, in addition to welcoming him, gave him a ball with which the Rebaño had just trained, which allowed Pepe to collect all the signatures from the squad.
One by one, the Chivas players approached Pepe, who could not wipe a smile the size of the Akron Stadium off his face, especially when 'Cone' Brizuela and 'Nene' Beltrán told him that they would give him a surprise for tomorrow.
Why until tomorrow? In addition to this visit to Verde Valle, Fundación Jorge Vergara also made it possible for Pepe to be the guest of honor at Chivas' match against Atlético San Luis this Saturday.
