15/07/2023 15:43 / Salvador Pacheco

As part of the activities prior to the second leg match between Guadalajara and Athletic Club for the Arbol de Gernika trophy, the Jorge Vergara Foundation and the Athletic Club Foundation organized a reading club that took place at the Akron Stadium with the participation of Antonio 'Pollo' Briseño for Chivas and Dani Vivian for the Lions, in addition to 15 players from the Rojiblanca youth academy and 15 fans.

The activity was moderated by Ibon Landa, Director of Communication of the Iberian team and Ana Karina Vázquez, Operational Director of the FJV, and consisted of a very pleasant and emotional talk about 'TOGO', an autobiographical book written by Óscar de Marcos, player of Athletic Club, in which the panelists shared interesting reflections on how the content touched their hearts and the similarities that they have lived, in addition to answering some questions from the audience.

At the end of the talk, Ana Karina Vázquez gave the panelists the book Jorge Vergara: Sueños, which represents with testimonies the work of our founder.

Afterwards, the attendees had the opportunity to have a copy of the book signed, courtesy of the Basque club, and end with a souvenir photo of this unique experience.

What is Togo about?
The book was written by Óscar de Marcos, in which he alternates relevant episodes of the author's soccer life, from his cadet stage to his first seasons as a red and white player, with the chapters dedicated to the story of a very special trip in his life, which took place in the summer of 2010, and which led him to visit Togo, in Africa.

"Togo" can be downloaded free of charge from the "Letters and Football" festival website.
