It is becoming less and less common to see a player show loyalty to a single team throughout his professional career. However, at Chivas there is a great referent: Jesús Sánchez, who this August 7 celebrates 13 years since his debut as a professional footballer, the entire time with Club Guadalajara.
El 'Chapo' arrived at the club from Sonora, where he played in the Third Division with his hometown team, Héroes de Caborca. His first team in the #CanteraRojiblanca was Chivas San Rafael in the Clausura 2008; that same tournament he played his first match with the Tapatío, playing 2 minutes against Tampico Madero on Day 16.
A few years later, in the Apertura 2010, José Luis Real promoted him to Guadalajara’s First Team and he made his debut on Matchday 3, playing as a starter in the 1-0 win against San Luis at Alfonso Lastras Stadium.
The Rebaño's full-back scored his first goal for Guadalajara against Querétaro at Corregidora Stadium, on Day 11 of the 2010 Apertura. Since then, Sánchez was converted from winger to full-back and it was in the latter role where he has made the biggest impact with Chivas.
As part of Mexico's most representative, popular and beloved team, 'Chapo' has won the MX Cup in the 2015 Apertura, the MX Super Cup in the 2015-16 season, the historic double in the 2017 Clausura and the 2018 CONCACAF Champions League.
