Chivas U23s stumble against FC Juarez in Liga MX restart

18/08/2023 12:00 / Javier Quezada

Ciudad Juárez - It was a very complicated morning for Chivas U-23 in their return to Liga MX activity, they suffered a painful 4-1 defeat against FC Juárez this Friday morning at the facilities of the Instituto Tecnológico de Ciudad Juárez, in a match corresponding to the fourth date of the Apertura 2023, a result that left the team in fourth place overall with 7 points, with half of the Game Day still to be played.

It is worth mentioning that the U-18 team did not play against Bravos because most of its players, including its coach Sergio Pinto, are representing El Rebaño in the Liga MX International Tournament being played at the Femexfut's CAR facilities. The match against the team from Juarez is scheduled for Friday, October 13 at 9:00 am.

How were the goals scored in Chivas U23 vs Juárez U23?
- The home side took the lead at 9', after they stole the ball at the Red and White exit and Ian Orozco simply pushed the ball into the net.
- At 12', the Bravos extended their lead through a penalty kick, which César Sosa made valid with a Panenka-like shot.
- José Zapata made it 3-0 at 68', with a left-footed shot from the front, which he put very close to the left corner of the goal.
- Armando González made El Rebaño's defeat even more respectable at 72', after he took advantage of a filtered pass to score in two minutes inside the box.
- As soon as the match resumed, Juárez put the game to bed when Diego Sánchez appeared in the penalty area to finish a cross with his head.
