Chivas faced Leon in San Jose, California, on March 26, 2022. That day represented a golden opportunity for the Rebaño defender, who had just been given the chance to break into the first team and was doing everything he could to earn a place.
Chiquete was a starter against the Panzas Verdes and managed to score his first goal with the Guadalajara jersey at 53'. The goal came from a corner kick from the right flank, which was taken by 'Chicote', who put the ball into the area of the red and white defender, who headed the ball home to make it 1-0.
