Las Chivas U23 and U18 teams were far superior to their Mazatlán FC counterparts this Tuesday morning at Verde Valle, in an early match on Matchday 11 of the Apertura 2023.
Only El Rebaño U18s were able to reflect their superiority on the scoreboard by beating the Sinaloans 3-1, while El Chiverío U23s, who crashed the ball into the net three times and tired to miss other clear scoring opportunities, had to settle for a 2-2 draw against the Cañoneros.
What were the goals for Chivas U18 like?
- José Gallegos opened the scoring at 43' from a corner kick, as he took advantage of a series of rebounds inside the Mazatleca box to send the ball home.
- Víctor García extended Chivas' lead at the start of the second half, after he shook off the marker inside the box with a cutback and struck a powerful shot that went in at the base of the left post.
- Chivas hinted at opening the scoring gap even further with a chance to score at 88', when Juan Uribe received a long ball from his own half that left him alone in front of the goalkeeper, and in a one-on-one situation, he shot over the goalkeeper's goalkeeper.
- Mazatlán FC made the defeat more dignified in the last play of the match, when Eric Pinilla took advantage of a low cross to tap the ball into the net.

- The Gunners extended their lead at the 20th minute, after red-and-white defender Diego Delgadillo sent the ball into his own goal, when he tried to send a powerful corner kick into his own net.
- Chivas closed the gap on the scoreboard seven minutes later through Armando González, who appeared unmarked in the heart of the aerial and simply pushed a diagonal pass from 'Chevy' Martínez into the net.
- The equalizer was a masterful piece of work by Leo Jiménez, who took a corner kick at the far post and with a right-footed right-footed shot sent the ball into the cage.
