The Mexican U-17 National Team had a turbulent start to the Indonesia 2023 World Cup, however the team showed great character and got two very important results, which allowed them to reach the Round of 16 of the World Cup.
El Tri arrived at its third group match in need of a win and fulfilled its mission with a 4-0 victory over New Zealand, a match in which our Red-and-White youth player Isaac Martínez was a starter and Captain of the Mexican team.
Martinez, who played all 90 minutes, provided the calm and leadership that the tricolor team needed to achieve its objective, and also played an outstanding role in the central defense of the team coached by Raul Chabrand.
Mexico will play its ticket to the Quarterfinals against Mali next Tuesday, November 21 at 2:30 a.m. (T.CM.).
