Chivas fought, but failed to score against Tigres

21/01/2024 20:00 / Omar González

San Nicolás de los Garza, N. L.- Fernando Gago's Guadalajara played with personality on the pitch at the 'Volcán', but were not effective up front to reflect their good performance on the scoreboard and ended up losing by the minimum difference against Tigres, in their match on the second date of the Clausura 2024.

The Rebaño Sagrado has to take advantage of the next few days to continue with their preparation, as their next match will be on Friday, January 26, when they visit Xolos at the Estadio Caliente.

The goal
Sebastián Córdova sent the ball into the net at 61', after finishing between two Red and White defenders following a pass from the left flank by Brunetta.

The ones that weren’t :

1' Fernando Beltrán took a right-footed shot in an attempt to place the ball near the post and the ball narrowly went wide.

3' CEEERRCAAA AGAIN! Pavel Pérez took the ball at close range and his shot went just wide of the Auriazul's goal.

13' On a pass to the back line, José Juan Macías threw the ball back to Roberto Alvarado, but the defense prevented the "Piojo" from shooting.

18' JJ Macías shot with the inside of his right foot towards the base of the post, but the ball slipped wide.

25' "Piojo" got away from Angulo's mark, the ball was left at the feet of Macías, who awkwardly took the shot and it went wide.

33' HUGE, CHIQUETE! With a firm foot, the Red and White Canterano blocked Brunetta's half-volley from just a few meters from the goal.

43' Great play by Mateo Chávez, who with a sweep avoided Gorriarán's shot at the far post to maintain parity on the scoreboard.

70' UUFFF! Cade Cowell came close to tying the game with his first shot on goal wearing Red-and-White when he volleyed the ball wide of the frame.

82' Great run by Cowell down the left flank and he sendt an aerial pass into the box, where Alvarado volleyed the ball over the top.

90'+5' Quiñones had scored for the home side, but the VAR disallowed the goal because Ibáñez, who was offside, interfered with the 'Tala's' vision.
