The Rebaño U16 team is already in the Semifinals of the Clausura 2024, after defeating América in a penalty shootout at the Coapa facilities. After a 2-2 draw in regular time, the Red and White youth players won 5-3 from the penalty spot to take the Quarter Final series.
The team from Guadalajara showed great character in the match, coming from behind on a couple of occasions to take the game to the final stages. América took the lead at 10' through Juan Rangel, but the team coached by Benny Ferreyra equalized with a goal by José Elenes at 12'.
In the second half, the Azulcremas took the lead again with a goal by Diego Reyes, but the red-and-whites responded again with a goal by Deibith Armenta at 68'. In the penalty shootout, the Rebaño's youth players hit all their shots to win the Clásico and the pass to the Semifinals.
Necaxa will be Guadalajara U16's rival for a place in the CL24 Grand Final, in a match with a date and time yet to be defined, but to be played at the Necaxa Club House.
