Chivas U18 eliminates Xolos and advances to Semifinals

04/05/2024 15:00 / Javier Quezada

It was a bittersweet morning for La Cantera Rojiblanca. Chivas U18 made the predictions come true by advancing to the Semifinals of their category after eliminating Xolos, while El Rebaño U14 came up short in their attempt to win the Semifinal Clasico de Mexico and ended their participation in the Clausura 2024. Below, we tell you what happened in each of the games of the morning double bill at the red and white facilities.

How did Chivas U18 do?
Although Xolos de Tijuana was a worthy opponent, who put up a fight until the last minute of the series, the competition's super-leader ended up demonstrating why it was the best team during the Regular Phase and after a 1-1 draw (3-3 overall) in the Quarter-Final Second Leg, the team made it to the Semi-Finals of the Clausura 2024.

Saturday's match was a fierce one, especially when the visitors took the lead at 63' through Emanuel Ley, but at 84' Isaac Martínez scored from the spot for the Rebaño Sagrado to advance to the Final.

Then, from the 11 penalty kicks, the Rebaño missed two of their shots, while the capital team scored all of them to advance to the Grand Final.
