Chivas U18s beat Necaxa in the first leg of the Final and will look to win the title at home!

15/05/2024 13:30 / Roberto García

The U18 Liga MX super leader made the predictions come true, as Chivas defeated Necaxa 1-0 in the first leg of the Grand Final, which was played this morning at the Rayos Stadium and will be looking to finish the job on Saturday and be crowned at the Akron Stadium.

Although the game was quite evenly matched, as both teams pressed hard in the midfield and disabled the opposing offenses, El Rebaño youth team assumed its role as the leader of the category until finding the goal that gave them the advantage on aggregate.

El Chiverío will play the final match this Saturday at 9 AM at the Fortaleza Rojiblanca, which we are sure will make its presence felt so that the trophy stays in Guadalajara's trophy cabinet. Remember that you can follow the match live on Chivas TVYouTube and Chivas Facebook.

The goal
-The third time was the charm! Víctor García appeared on the left flank to control the ball and unleashed an unstoppable shot inside the box to open the scoring.

Dangerous chances
-At 25', the locals were able to take the lead thanks to a tight cross from the right, which the red and white goalkeeper David Nungaray saved from the Necaxistas' shot.
At 36', Xandor Camacho had the chance for the Rebaño, with a great ball that went down in the heart of the box and then a right-footed shot that went just over the Necaxista goal.
-The Rays had another chance at 59' from a free kick, but Nungaray's flight prevented the ball from going into the back of his goal.
-At 64', it seemed that Guadalajara's first goal would come from the corner with a prefabricated play that left Ariel Castro alone at the far post, but unfortunately, he was unable to connect the ball well and it went over the back line.
-CEEEERCA! In the 84th minute, a Necaxa rebound from a corner kick was taken advantage of by Castro, who unthinkingly attempted a bicycle kick from the halfway line of the box that came within a whisker of finding the top corner of the home goal.
