Today is a special day for Club Deportivo Guadalajara and its interest in having a positive impact on society, as it has officially joined Football for the Goals, an initiative by the United Nations that aims to raise awareness about issues that can make a difference in our lives.
What is Football for the Goals?
It is a project that seeks to involve global soccer in the promotion of the UN Sustainable Development Goals. This program aims to raise awareness and promote sustainable practices by inviting the soccer community to become agents of change, recognizing the responsibility to create a better future, ensuring inclusion, equality and equity for all.
This movement emerged after the Women's Euro 2022 with the clear objective of getting soccer fans to join in and make an impact on the sustainable development goals.
As part of the actions that the Club has been undertaking for some time through the REVIVE, Sustainability Omnilife Chivas program, we decided to send the request to join this global effort along with clubs such as Ajax, Al Nassr, AEK and Feyenoord, making us the first Mexican soccer institution to be part of Football for the Goals.
Below are some of the actions carried out at Club Deportivo Guadalajara in order to strengthen sustainable practices:
- Sustainable infrastructure of the Akron Stadium.
- Socially Responsible Company Certification
- Rehabilitation of vulnerable spaces promoting soccer.
- Diversity, Equality and Labor Inclusion Policy
- Commitment to sustainable operating practices to reduce environmental impact.
