With Rojiblanco goal, Mexico U-20 goes for the Pre-World Cup title

03/08/2024 11:40 / Enrique Noriega

El Tri U-20 is just 90 minutes away from glory, as it has already made it to the Grand Final of the U-20 Pre-World Cup, after defeating Cuba 2-0 on Friday night at the Estadio del León. After this victory, the Mexican National Team will face the United States in the Final, which will take place next Sunday at the home of the Panzas Verdes.

With the ticket to Chile 2025 already in their hands, Mexico faced this commitment with 2 Chivas players in the starting 11. But that's not all, as one of them managed to score his first goal of the tournament and help the Aztecs on their way to victory. Do you want to know all the details? Here we tell you all about it.

Diego Ochoa and Brandon Téllez started against Cuba, while Francisco Méndez came on as a substitute and Yael Padilla received a well-deserved rest after the wear and tear he has had throughout the tournament.

It was in the 6th minute of the match when Ochoa made his presence felt on the scoreboard, with a left-footed shot that beat Cuba's goalkeeper to make it 2-0. Brandon Téllez played the entire match. Méndez came on in the second half, taking the place of Diego Ochoa.
