San Nicolás de los Garza, N.L.- With a show of personality and determination to achieve a good result, Guadalajara earned a very valuable point in their visit to Tigres after a 1-1 draw this Saturday night at the Estadio Universitario, in a match on Matchday 5 of the Apertura 2024, which marked the return to action of El Rebaño in Liga MX.
In the first half of the match, goalkeeper Raúl Rangel was the key man for Chivas, saving a penalty kick taken by André-Pierre Gignac, while at the start of the second half, "Piojo" Alvarado put the team ahead, although Gignac did not forgive twice and scored a few minutes later.
This result allowed El Rebaño to reach 8 points after 5 matches played in the national championship. The next match will be on Saturday, August 30, against FC Juárez at the Akron Stadium.
The goals
- GOALOOOOOOO from Piojo! At 46', Alan Mozo appeared in the central lane, advanced with the ball and gave it to Roberto Alvarado, who cut back over Jesús Angulo and then connected with the inside of his left foot to place the ball at the base of the right post.
- At 55' André-pierre Gignac decreed the final equalizer with a left-footed shot inside the box, which beat Raúl Rangel's throw.

- At 10' Alan Mozo shot from mid-range, but the ball went just wide of the feline goal.
- At 22', an extraordinary reflex by "Tala" Rangel to stop the ball after a header by Gignac, although the play was invalidated due to the Frenchman's offside.
- At 33' "HERMOOOOOOZOOOOOO" shot by Alan, who connected the ball with a half-scissors kick, but it went wide.
- At 36' "Guti" came close, who shot the ball with his left foot in search of the base of the post, but the ball went wide.
- At 41' TALAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA! The red-and-white goalkeeper made a great save with a throw to his left side of the penalty kick taken by Gignac after a controversial marking by the referee in a scuffle between "Guti" and Oziel Herrera.
- At 45', "Cowboy" Cowell appeared dangerously in the area to pull the trigger in search of the near post, but goalkeeper Tapia was attentive to stop the ball.
- At 49', José Castillo dived to head a shot, but was unable to direct the ball.
- At 68' Guido Pizarro managed to get clear in the area to head the ball, but the ball went wide of the red and white goal.
- At 76' CLOSE. After a shot by Cade Cowell, goalkeeper Tapia left the ball alive for the counter-attack and when Armando González was about to connect, he pulled the ball back to keep it.
- At 78', "Pollo" Briseño made a great cross to block André-Pierre Gignac's shot.
- At 90' UUUFFF Cade Cowell took a shot inside the area, but it went out of the goalkeeper Fernando Tapia's hands.
- At 90'+2, "Guti" made a very good cover run to the center to block Marcelo Flores' shot.
