Chivas showed good form, but drew with Rayados.

29/09/2024 23:30 / Roberto García

Guadalajara put on a good footballing performance and came very close to a 3 for 3 win, but an oversight cost them a 1-1 draw against Rayados this Saturday night at Akron Stadium, on matchday 10 of the Apertura 2024. With this result, Fernando Gago's team reached 15 points, which kept them in the Playoff places.

Chiverío's good performance was reflected in the multiple goal-scoring options they generated to extend their lead, but Andrada and a post were a factor. It should be noted that the Rebaño set a new record without conceding a goal at home, having gone 717 minutes, surpassing the previous records set in 1965 (697 min) and 1972 (709 min).

The Red-and-Whites are now thinking about the Clásico Tapatío, which will take place at the Fortaleza Rojiblanca next Saturday, October 5, at 7:05 PM.

The goals

- Guadalajara's GOAL! At 27', 'Piojo' Alvarado gave a 3-finger pass inside the box to Ricardo Marín, who controlled the ball with his left foot inside the box and shot past Andrada to open the scoreboard.
- Los Regios equalized with a goal from Jesús Corona, who anticipated Alan Mozo and Raúl Rangel to score with an empty net.

Dangerous tries

-The first was for the Rebaño from the head of the 'Hormiga' at minute 6, who received Mozo's cross, but his shot went wide.
-González appeared again! After a breakaway by Cisneros at 13', the Red-and-White youth player got his head to his teammate's cross, but Andrada's man deflected it for a corner kick.
-Marín had a header at 31', rising to the height of the penalty spot to shoot, but without the necessary precision.
At 33', Alvarado broke away from 3 opponents, played back to Beltrán and the Rebaño's 20-footer shot from distance, but it went over the goal.
-Chivas' second came close at 37', when Castillo left 'Piojo' one-on-one and he in turn set up '4K', who shot against Andrada's misplacement, but he managed to get his hand under the ball.
-What 'Piojo' was going to do! At 61', he took a corner kick from the right looking to surprise with an Olympic goal, but only Andrada's slap could prevent the second goal.
At 66', Alvarado made a fantastic try, breaking away from his marker and sending a left-footed shot from distance, which went over the crossbar.
-At 75', Omar Govea appeared inside the box, behind the back of the defense, with a header that drew a gasp from the stands before Andrada's save.
-Mateo burst the crossbar! At 94', the 'Piojo' left Chávez one-on-one in the box and he fired a shot that shocked the Monterrey goal, to the choked scream of the Chiva Nation.
