The red-and-white legend with a birthday on October 3

03/10/2024 14:27 / Roberto García

It is a day of celebration for the Rojiblanca Nation, because on a day like today, 44 years ago, a Deportivo Guadalajara legend was born. We are, of course, talking about Héctor 'Sansón' Reynoso, a true stalwart of the red-and-white backline who proudly represented Mexico's Most Beloved and Popular Team for more than a decade.

Formed in the Cantera Rojiblanca, the mythical 4 of Chivas saw his first minutes in the maximum circuit in the 2001 Summer Tournament under the guidance of Oscar Ruggieri, thus beginning a long career in the club's history. With his start against Tigres on Saturday, February 17, Mexican soccer got to know the player who would become a permanent fixture in Guadalajara's defense.

Among his achievements in Liga MX, of course, is the 2006 Apertura title, where the Rebaño Sagrado lifted the 11th at the Nemesio Diez Stadium with Reynoso as one of the leaders of that team. He also played in the 2004 Clausura Final against Pumas and the 2010 Copa Libertadores Final against Internacional de Porto Alegre.

One of the most memorable moments of 'Sansón' is the long distance goal he scored against América in the 2005 Clausura to tie the score at 3-3 at the Azteca Stadium. He was also a national team player on several occasions.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, HECTOR!!!!
