One of the convictions and an immovable pillar of Guadalajara's philosophy is to promote national talent at all costs, not only to have the best Mexicans possible, but also to train them from their own ranks. So much so that, historically, Chivas can boast many of the best players this country has ever seen.
Of course, the work in the Cantera Rojiblanca and the constant scouting work play a preponderant role in making this possible, with the parallel objective of achieving sporting results in accordance with the greatness of the club and the demands that this entails, which is why the Rebaño Sagrado usually has a low average age in its teams.
Precisely in this area, Guadalajara can boast that the team it fielded last Tuesday against Necaxa was the youngest in the last 6 years, as the average age during the match on matchday 13 of the Apertura 2024 was 24.82 years old.
To find a younger team than the one that beat Los Rayos, we have to go back to April 28, 2018, when also at the Akron Stadium, Chivas averaged 23.8 years in their match against León.
As if that weren't enough, of the 16 Rebaño players who saw minutes against Necaxa, eight of them continued their process in the Cantera Rojiblanca.
With these solid foundations, Guadalajara aims to consolidate its sports project with the goal of reaching the highest national and international sporting achievements, which we are sure will come with the support of the entire Chiva Nation.
The Red-and-White note...
- Chivas complied with the underage rule on matchday 8 against León. So far, the Rebaño has 1,788.8 minutes, thanks to the constant participation of José Castillo, Gilberto Chiquete, Cade Cowell, Armando González, Gael García, Mateo Chávez, Luis Rey, Yael Padilla, Leonardo Sepúlveda and Fidel Barajas.
