Chivas draws against Pumas at the Akron

02/11/2024 21:12 / Roberto García

Guadalajara engaged in a real battle with Pumas this Saturday night at the Akron Stadium, however, neither managed to score and the match of Matchday 15 ended in a scoreless draw, a result that keeps alive the Rebaño's chances of qualifying directly for the Liguilla, which reached 22 points in the standings.

With the conviction of imposing their home advantage, the red and white team took control of the ball and constructed plays that brought them close to the university goal. Through partnerships in the midfield and the width of their wingers, Chivas found space to cause damage, but lacked precision in their finishing.

Chivas must now focus on making the most of the upcoming double-header at the end of the championship, in which they will have to collect the remaining 6 points, first against Santos this Tuesday in the Comarca Lagunera and then next Saturday against San Luis at the Akron Stadium.

-It took 2 minutes for the action to be repeated: Cowell in space and shot to the far post, but again the goalkeeper appeared.
At 34', an excellent individual play by Mateo Chávez left Marín in the penalty spot, but his first-time shot went wide.
-TALA! A Pumas counterattack at 39' seemed to become the first goal of the match, but when Huerta was waiting to push the ball in, Rangel got his hand out low to deflect it away.
At 63', Teun Wilke broke down the right and left-footed the ball to the 'Vaquero', who shot with his head to the far post, but it went inches wide of the goal.
-WHAT A BOMB! At 79', Chiquete took the courage to shoot from a distance and with a left-footed shot he looked for the upper corner, in front of Alcalá's flight.
-At 85', 'Oso' González tried a shot from half distance, but was unable to give the necessary direction to his shot.
