Chivas' Cantera Rojiblanca adds up in Torreón and consolidates its place in the Playoffs

05/11/2024 13:12 / Roberto García

Guadalajara's U-23 and U-19 teams left the TSM Stadium with positive results, with a view to the Playoffs in their respective circuits.

In addition, the work of the Cantera Rojiblanca was once again on display. If you want to know what we're talking about, keep reading because we'll bring you all the details.

How did the U19 team do?

The Rojiblanco team won for the seventh match in a row and defeated Los Laguneros 1-3 to reach 35 points in the standings, which allows them to tighten their grip on the lead in the competition.

The result also has a very special flavor, as Sergio Pinto sent 7 players born in 2007 to the field, who are even eligible to compete in Under 17, but thanks to the work of the Cantera Rojiblanca, their process allows them to develop in categories more advanced than those of their age.

Esteban Mendoza gave our team the lead in the first half, while Samir Inda and Ian Torres sealed the win in the second half.

The home side scored a late equalizer through captain Alex Valencia.

Daniel Soares' team earned two important points in the Comarca, as they drew 2-2 against Santos and won the subsequent penalty shootout 4-3. As a result, Chivas U-23s are now in the playoff places with 27 points.

Although the Albiverdes took the lead at 20', the Rebaño redoubled their efforts until they found the equalizer at 35', with a header by Diego Ochoa on a second play.
