The win and the good collective performance were not the only good news for Guadalajara at the start of the Clausura 2025, as there are some other highlights that need to be recognized.
Much has been said about the two Cantera Rojiblanca players who made their debut against Santos, but today we want to reveal another equally outstanding piece of information that confirms Chivas' commitment to promoting and developing the talent of its youngest players. In Matchday 1 of the Clausura 2025, the Rebaño Sagrado used 8 players 23 years old or younger.
Four of the eight players started against Santos:
- Miguel Gómez (22 years old)
- José Castillo (23 years old)
- Hugo Camberos (17 years old)
- Yael Padilla (19 years old)
The remaining 4 came on as substitutes:
- Cade Cowell (23 years old)
- Raul Martinez (21 years old)
- Luis Rey (22 years old)
- Teun Wilke (22 years old)
This data tells us two very important things; the first is the conviction that exists in Guadalajara to bet on the talent of young players and on the other hand, it is more than evident the mentality, capacity and soccer quality of these elements, who despite their young age were able to make a difference in their respective positions and above all, in a team with the demands that the Rebaño Sagrado has.
Red-and-White Note...
- The average age of the squad used by Guadalajara in J1 of the CL15 was 23.8 years old.
