After a heart-stopping and emotionally charged second leg, Chivas U16 won the U16 Championship with a 2-3 aggregate victory over Atlas at the Jalisco Stadium. The obvious excitement of the youngsters was justified, as in addition to lifting the Clausura 2024 trophy, they did it against the city's rival, and that gave the result a special touch.

After the awards ceremony, some players and members of the board of directors expressed their feelings to the microphones of Chivas TV and this is what they had to say:

- Benny Ferreyra, Guadalajara U16 coach

"I am thrilled, this is something you have to experience to be able to measure it. I am very proud of the team that was formed, and I thank everyone who was part of this championship".

"We want the youngsters to arrive with the best possible tools to the First Division, but we are also interested in them collecting achievements of this kind along the way."

"We have made great progress in the training of talent and fortunately we were able to combine it with this Championship, which is a product of the work and support we have received."

- Diego Covarrubias, Chivas U16 captain

"I am very excited, this Championship was something very difficult to achieve and thank God everything aligned."

"This victory reflects that Chivas is the great one of this city, we gave a blow of authority by beating them in the Final".

- Brandon Brocksom, Chivas U16 forward.

"It was a very difficult tournament and the Final was going to be the same. We were able to win in the first leg and here we tried to manage the advantage and we did it".

"I am very satisfied with the work we all did together, it is very exciting to win here at the Jalisco Stadium."

- Mariano Varela, Director of Institutional Soccer

"It's always special to win these kinds of games. These categories are the heart of Chivas, that's why we had to impregnate that Rojiblanco DNA with Javier Mier, Alan Rivera, and Alberto Coyote.

"The kids were calm, we told them that it would be like playing twice at home, both at the Akron and at the Jalisco".

"Atlas is a good team and beating them always has a special flavor, the players have perfectly understood the flavor of the rivalry. Today the atmosphere was phenomenal".

- Javier Mier, Assistant Director of Institutional Soccer

"It makes me proud to see the personality that the kids showed, the way they won should be highlighted. There are a lot of people who work behind the young players so that they can bring out their full potential, for that we have to thank them all."

"The heart of Chivas is in its basic forces and we all know it, that's why we try to give them good tools that in turn allow us to generate awareness that the most important thing is always this shield, for which we all work".
